Li and Song shared a decadent-tasting gelato outside a charming shop on a quiet Rome street, the first of what would become a running theme through their engagement session. Planner  Taryn Stark Wyant helped shape a day built entirely around the couple's love for the city, sweet treats, and joy.

The Colosseum stood tall behind them as more than just a backdrop for their portraits. The history-filled architecture led by telling its own story while the couple told theirs, walking the streets of Rome and letting the city romanticize what was still to come. A radiant crystal-blue sky held steady overhead, not a drop of rain in sight. Li's tousled waves and soft makeup paired easily with Song's tailored suit, both of them framed against the bleached, sun-washed stone of the surrounding buildings and lush pockets of greenery tucked between them.  Atelier Åberg captured every bit of it, soft kisses, quiet glances, easy embraces, and the small in-between moments that made the day feel like theirs alone.

Gelato began peeking into each frame throughout the afternoon, practically a co-star in the love story unfolding around it. Richly colored espresso martinis and more sweet treats followed as the couple wandered from one block of the city to the next. One particular standout shot came later, Li's rounded diamond ring. It sparkled in the sun against a stone fountain and its rippling water, with the city standing silent behind them. As the session began to wind down, the couple shared one last kiss, another gelato-sweet goodbye to Rome.
